OCC APP README FILE The Oasis Control Center application (the OCC app) is used to configure Oasis-08 and Oasis-12 consoles. It also can save the console's configuration as an XML file. This allows one console's setup to be saved and then uploaded to any number of other consoles of the same size. The OCC app is also used to upload console firmware The OCC app can run on PCs using WinXP (SP3) or Win7/8/10 (either 32-bit or 64-bit). When the OCC app is run on an XP PC install the included FTDI drivers (CDM20830_Setup.exe) PRIOR TO installing the OCC app. Win 7 or later operating systems normally include these USB drivers natively, but if you find you cannot connect to the Oasis console when first running the OCC app, then uninstall the OCC App and run the FTDI driver app to install the drivers manually, then reinstall the OCC app. The OCC app is installed using the installer program (Oasis_Deploy.msi) which is delivered in a zipped folder (Oasis_app_Vxx.zip). The program is installed by double clicking Oasis_Deploy.msi. A shortcut icon is added to the desktop and a Start Menu item is added: Start > Programs > Harris Corp. > Oasis. With the Oasis console powered connect a USB Host cable between the PC and the console's Main card USB connector. A "Found New Hardware" dialog box may pop up the first time the console is connected. Select Search automatically for the drivers. After the drivers are installed, start the OCC app. You may get a second "Found new Hardware" pop-up to add the USB serial control driver. Again select Search automatically to install the driver. DEFAULT CONSOLE SETTINGS The XML Configuration Files folders has the default.XML files loaded into Oasis-08 or Oasis-12 consoles at the factory. These can be uploaded to a console to return that console to its factory default settings. This is done using the OCC app's Configuration Files tool on the Information tab. If the console is going to be used for mono program material, run the Prog_Modality_Mono.xml file to set the console for complete mono operation. If you subsequently want to use the console in stereo, run the Prog_Modality_Stereo.xml file. Running these .xml files will not affect the channel settings. WIN XP DISPLAY ISSUES If the Oasis app is not displaying button selections and other settings properly, it is most likely caused by the computer display being set for "Windows Classic Style" display. This display type is needed to support Windows 95/98 era applications. Oasis does not support this display type, thus the computer display must be set to Windows XP Style. To change your XP machine to use the Windows XP Style of display: 1. Right-click on the desktop and select Properties. 2. Click on the Appearance tab. 3. Change the "Windows and buttons" setting from "Windows Classic Style" to "Windows XP style." 4. Click Apply. 5. Click Ok to close the Properties window.
